Barnet Fair

So it was inevitable that it was going to happen, it was just a matter of time… that’s right- for me to do a blog about HAIR.
It’s not that I am shallow or vain, it’s simply that I am just never happy with the way I look & my hair takes all the stick for that. Oh I have put my hair through it & as a result I have ended up with just as much indecisiveness as before & brittle hair to go with it.
My hairdresser told me that people with strong personalities who want to express that tend to go for 1 of the 3 hair colour choices- platinum blonde, bright red or jet black & oddly I have had all 3 colours, but always gone back to golden brown. What does this say about me? That I go throw stages of expressing myself but always go back to my comfort blanket of hiding behind a natural hair colour?
There’s the timeless saying that ‘blondes have more fun’ well I have tried & tested this & can honestly say they DO have more fun. Maybe it is just coincidence that at that particular time in my life everything was the way it was which in turn made it more fun, but because of this (maybe mere coincidence) I find myself sitting in the hairdresser’s chair urging myself to say those words ‘make me blonde again.’
I think girls will understand me when I say this- depending on what colour hair you have makes you feel different as a person. For example: When I was blonde I actually started to feel a bit silly (this is not to offend blondes, please read on…) it was the fact that I think allowances were not made as much when I maybe didn’t explain myself properly in a conversation & somebody would undoubtedly pipe up with ‘you are so blonde’ or something very similar. I then started to act up to this assumption of me, maybe because it was easier.
Then with black hair I felt bitchy, I felt grown up & like when I put a suit on- I meant business. Weird isn’t it. I would say if I had a variety of wigs that I choose to wear instead of my natural hair then black would be the wig I would put on for an interview.  I suppose I felt like a strong woman, but the reason I ditched the hair colour is because I felt like I looked so stern & aggressive at times & that’s not for me.
Red hair… what can I say about this. I had always avoided this hair colour, but honestly it is quite striking. I felt like a mermaid & I quite enjoyed that. This hair colour has become quite popular lately & I can see why. Females with blue eyes rocking this hair colour all resemble Ariel (The Little Mermaid) to me, just how some people say blonde heads represent the Barbie look- something that I am quite keen on. Judge me not!
So to sum up & add to- blonde hair makes me feel young & silly, black hair makes me feel catty & mature, red hair makes me feel fake but fun. Now sitting here with my brown hair I ask myself what does brown hair make me feel? And I would probably say sensible & natural- not the best adjectives I would want to use to describe myself. But I remember that a hair colour doesn’t define you.
As a finish up, could I just say that I think everyone looks gorgeous whatever hair colour they have & that you shouldn’t let people make you feel a certain way because of the hair colour you possess or what attire you choose or what features you were assigned (lol a funny use of word there). Let’s only judge people on the way they act when they necessarily need to be judged.
Blondes are stunning, Brunettes are stunning, Black haired-stunning, Redheads are stunning, Gingers (which I have also been) are stunning and so on…lets embrace being such beautiful creatures J

Polling & Politics

So I did Polling on Thursday for the Local Elections. This is a very long 16 hour shift sitting in your designated Polling Station making sure the people’s voting day all goes smoothly. And I cannot even give you a figure for the amount of older ladies who came in to vote & stated that they think people in this country should be forced to vote & how they think it is a shame that not enough youngsters vote.
These ladies are right. Statistics (and my very own eyes) support that it is the older generation that makes a point of voting. It seems voting is something that, when this older generation were younger, was pushed onto them more by their parents or schools or society- I don’t know.

But I have to disagree with these older ladies & offer you with an alternative…you see if a youngster were forced to vote, would they submit their vote based on hours of research into the different parties history & promises on how they would improve the country? Or would they simply pick a name at random so they don’t get fined or whatever the penalty would be for not voting?

My guessing is it would be the latter. I don’t vote & my reason for not voting is that I don’t know enough about the political parties to be a part in who could possible come into power. I have always thought that it would be irresponsible of me to potentially affect the outcome just because ‘I should vote’ based on me having the opportunity to.

Don’t get me wrong I know a bit about what has been happening with the country, it’s pretty difficult to not have noticed ‘the recession’ & discussions on TV about who is to blame for it all. But I still haven’t made up my mind, so I’m doing what I feel is best & letting (hopefully) people who do have more of an idea influence the outcome.

My idea? Introduce a few classes in schools on politics (maybe swap some of the religious studies (just a few) for some politics), nothing too heavy, just show the importance of being aware of what the government does.
Give kids a bit more of an insight into the subject & maybe once this has happened & these generations come to an age where they can vote- they then will.

Lets end this on a light note…pictures of me in my work attire J lol

2nd Sister Trip to Camden, London Town

I have recently attended to a promo night for a certain vodka company & thought it would suffice at filling a special page in my blog, a vodka company drunk on doing shots of sentiment, this vodka company…2 words for you… Ketel One.

Ketel One vodka is created in Schiedam, Holland by the Nolet family & Carl Nolet (the 11th generation of Nolet) took great pleasure in telling me his family history & even more interestingly Ketel One’s history. ‘Still to this day each batch of Ketel One vodka is tasted & approved by one of the Nolet family’
Carl Nolet also went on to tell us how Ketel One is not a brand that forces itself onto people, they ‘simply let people try it & decide for themselves’ & the great success of the company through generations speaks volumes for this method.

The event was held in a swanky bar opened at the end of April 2012 above the Gilgamesh Restaurant in Camden. This is the kind of bar you expect to see celebrities networking in boasting it’s intricate Indian hand carved woodwork covering the ceilings, comfy couches scattered around the edge of the plush venue overlooking the centre of Camden from the full length glass windows and amongst all this, if you want to guarantee yourself some quality Ketel One vodka- this is your spot.

Now that I have skimmed the informative part…onto the real reason I was there in the first place…my sister- Melonie.

After bagging her self a well deserved place at The Lady Magazine where she has the chance to show them what she is made of, this is just the kind of appointments she needs to tend to. So I went along for erm ‘the experience’ and it really was just that.
After showing up at this venue (hair done, blazer on) expecting my smiles to only come from spending some time with my sister, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed myself & I now look very much forward to the next outing.

You know what- I could really see myself in the PR line of work after hearing & seeing what these girls do for these events. Maybe I am in the wrong line of work… I definitely am!!! But that is a whole different subject…for another day.

I love my sister J

Ice a cream

So I have made it my mission that wherever I go & see a giant ice cream I will get a pic with it & thought I would then post the pics on my blog as I go along. I have 3 so far but (out of the pics of myself I have of myself) am not so keen on these, is a quick reminder to myself of what my nan once told me 'you shouldn't have outfits/make up for special occasions, you should treat everyday as a special occasion as you never know what is going to happen when you go out' (or what giant ice creams you are going to run into).
Here is the beginning of my collection above. Just think if I keep this up it could be like a timeline of me, imagine me as an OAP still with my giant ice cream accomplishments lol- Hey! Maybe I can break some kind of' pics with giant ice creams' world record. Maybe I should travel the world in search of as many giant ice creams as possible, who knows ay...

"Happy Birthday Mr Rabbit"

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Mr Hugh Hefner Many Happy Returns and a Very Happy Birthday. I would like to seize this opportunity further by saying that Mr Hefner should be a Sir Hugh Hefner, agreed? Debatable? You decide...

My 1st Blog

Here I am...My 1st Blog and I have so much that I want to say, yet I want to keep this 1st one nice and simple.
Why 'The Ear-less Bunny?' I hear you say, well my nickname for a while has been Kimbunny (a play on my name being Kimberley and my past love of everything Playboy/ fluffy/ cute). I figured my blog will be all about me finding my ears in life and when I am referring to my ears I mean 'my calling' or finding what it is that makes me feel fully complete.
So how topical that I start on Easter Sunday- the day that bunnies would feel most important (a bit like Christmas Day is to Santa Claus).
All I want to say for now is "Hello and Happy Easter aka National Chocolate Day" ;-)
Now on to Google to find out where all the Easter egg hunts are at!!!!
